In 2019 I was visiting Taiwan for the first time in my life. It was an amazing trip with a lot of things that surprised me.
There is a lot of Geoparks, I was visiting the ones in the northeast such as Yeliu and Heping Island. I have seen already of lot of weird rocks and geology formations everywhere in the world but these shapes I found here are very unique and I didn’t expect that on such a small island.
In the north there is even an algae reef on a former volcanic rock flow.
Beautiful Taroko National Park has beautiful marble rock gorges, wonderful water colors and tropical vegetation even when it reminded me sometimes a little bit of New Zealand
Unfortunately I didn’t see many of the beautiful waterfalls
I want to come back as soon as possible. There is so much more to discover..
