I think the best season for photographing the skyline of San Francisco is in the winter months. The sunset and the sunrise can be seen very close to the skyline of the inner city from the most common viewpoints such as Marin Headlands or Yerba Buena Island. Another big advantage in comparison especially to the summer months is the better visibility due to clear air in the rainy winter months. All the hills are mostly green and the nature looks more like in Ireland or New Zealand.
